An international ceremony at CERN near Geneva, Switzerland is interrupted when a supersonic boom and ultrasonic sound waves cause 288 people—including the American President (the first female elected to the position)—to be displaced to a forest hundreds of miles away and transported 2,000 years into the past.

They arrive during the Battle of Teutoburg Forest, when Rome's legions are about to experience their largest military defeat at the hands of Germanic tribesmen.

An American Marine Major must lead the group, including the President, through survival against both Germanic warriors and Roman forces while attempting to return to their original time period.

As they navigate this dangerous historical moment, the group must use modern knowledge and leadership to survive in a brutal ancient world, all while searching for a way back home to the 21st century.
